Abstract:

The photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work during the Smithsonian-Bredin Caribbean Expedition, 1958. There are no captions on the reverse side of the images. Subject matter covers the sailing vessel with islands in the background, candid images of expedition participants at work, expedition crew, examples of coastline vegetation, participants collecting on hillside and beach, and an image of invertebrate specimen.
