Abstract:
Charles D. Walcott notes observations of the Chazy formation on Isle la Motte in Lake Champlain in Vermont and Utica Shale in Quebec Province of Canada, 1886-1889. Most notes are collections of a few sheets paper. There are extensive handwritten notes on a section of Isle la Motte as well as a typed copy, listing descriptions of section layers, including measurements in feet and inches. Descriptions include details about type of stone, color, texture, and presence of fossils.
