Abstract:
This field book contains a catalogue of specimen numbered 1076-2200 which Chittenden collected or which was collected by others and numbered according to Chittenden's directions between approximately 1908 and 1918. One specimen listed is dated 1899. Chittenden and his colleagues collected Lepidoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera (including Aphididae), Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, and other insect groups, many or all of which are parasitic. Collecting took place in the United States and possibly other locations. Some frequently recorded locations in the United States include Florida, Texas, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Utah, Washington state, and Idaho. Other locations not recorded in this record are included. The catalogue contains the following information: number, name (binomial), “det” (probably determination), Host (plant or other insect was found on), Locality, Date, and “coll” (probably collector).
