Black-and-white photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work in the Faulklands [Falkland Islands] during the Walter Rathbone Bacon Traveling Scholarship Expeditions to the East and West Coasts of South America, 1925-1927. Some photographs are duplicates. Subject matter includes pastures and herds of sheep; penguins and their nests; marine mammals on the coastline; candid images of local inhabitants at work in countryside and on the docks; sheep on dock; views aboard ship; and vegetation of shorelines.
