Abstract:
This field book contains John Murdoch's catalogue on fishes and mammals made by the Point Barrow Polar Expedition, 1881-1883. Collections are from Alaska (possibly near Point Barrow) between approximately 10 February 1882 to 16 September 1883. Catalogue contains specimen number, binomial, name in another language (possibly Iñupiaq), date, and a second set of numbers abbreviated "mt". Fish specimen are recorded on pages 1 and 2 with numbers ranging from 576 to 1769. Mammal specimen are recorded on pages 65-72 with numbers ranging from 509-1541. These also include weight of the specimen.
