Abstract:
This notebook contains data on a collection of dragonflies made in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, but principally in the eastern United States from 13 August 1949 to 10 July 1960. Some collecting was done in the south, southwest, and west. Not all locations are listed in this record. A complete record of habitat from which most specimens were taken and occasional notes of the chase for especially prized specimens are included in the notebook. Some sketches are included. Specimen numbers 1-517 and RHG 55-1 to 60-2 are included. Notes are recorded on data sheets with the following fields: Survey (usually state), Drainage, Locality (specific location), County, Quadrangle, Elevation, Water (description), Current, Shore, Distance from shore, Temperature, Time, Weather, Depth of capture, Depth of water, Method of capture, Date, Collected by, Original preservation, Time, General notes (binomial often listed here).
