This collection consists of two unpublished manuscripts by Henry Weed Fowler, that constitute the record unit 7180, Henry Weed Fowler Papers, circa 1920, 1930-1941 (Smithsonian Institution Archives). The manuscripts span 8 boxes of materials. Only two catalog records were created-- one for each manuscript.|The manuscripts are entitled: (1) The Fishes Obtained by the United States Exploring Expedition, 1838-1842, Under the Command of Captain Charles Wilkes; and (2) The Fishes of the groups Stomiatoidei, Synbranchii, Apodes, Heteromi, Lyopomi, Imiomi and related forms, mostly bathylpelagic, collected by the United States Bureau of Fisheries Steamer 'Albatross', chiefly in Philippine Seas and adjacent waters.
