This record describes only the five field note materials with the "Collected notebooks of entomologists, United States National Museum, circa 1881-1931". For information about experiment notebooks and catalogs, see the Smithsonian Institution Archives finding aid under the "Related Materials" section of this record. One of the these field books relates to the entomological work of John C. Branner and Albert Koebele in Brazil in 1883. The four other field books related to entomological specimens collected in California by various collectors working for the Division of Cereal and Forage Insects, Bureau of Entomology, United States Department of Agriculture.
