Description:
Illustration for a Nonesuch Press edition of Miguel de Cervantes' 1605 novel, Don Quixote. Two mounted figures ride towards mountains in the background. The foremost figure rides a donkey and faces to the left. The figure behind is much larger, rides a horse, and is wearing full armor. Image is shaded in orange (at left) and blue (at right). Presumably, the two mounted figures are Don Quixote (in background) and Sancho Panza (in foreground).
