Description:
A simple mantelpiece with voluted outline with a rectangular painting above it depicting seated Apollo with an amor. Decoration of scrollwork on upper part of the frame. Paneling flanking fireplace consists of rectangular fields in sequence without any special ornamentation. Below, profiles of molding. Inscribed, upper margin: "Decoration d'une Cheminée sans glace, à l'usage d'une Anti-chambre"; lower right: "Mariette excudit"; lower left: "3".
