Description:
An illustrated book intended as a how-to manual for women, young people, and young men describes various craft hobbies and handiwork pastimes that can usefully occupy leisure hours or rainy days at home. It is a "petite" encyclopedia of processes for decorative lettering, painting on porcelain, needlework techniques, macrame, making artificial flowers of paper or silk, and devising decorative works with shells, straw or horsehair. 224 pages of text (two pages missing), 72 plates, lithographed, engraved, chiefly hand-colored. Deep blue-voilet covers, red-violet leather spine, gold-tooled title: "Album / des Arts utiles / et amusants"
