Description:
Embroidered sampler with two alphabets, a set of numerals, a verse and a landscape within a deep vine border of flowers and grapes. The landscape includes a woman standing by a tree, sheep, and a large basket of flowers.
The verse reads:
Jesus permit thy name to stand
As the first efforts of an infants hand
And while her fingers o'er this canvass move
Engage her tender heart to seek thy love
