Description:
A variation of -1638, above. The gaines - figures springing from bunches standing upon short columns - are nearer to the walls than to each other. The vaulted lower part of the ceiling has triangular compartments, the upper decorated with festoons and a medallion, the lower with what possibly is a sphinx crouching upon a high pedestal with figures, and two figures sitting beside. Unusual background.
