Description:
Horizontal rectangle: In the foreground the King sits under a canopy flanked by spectators seated in the stands. At center, in the large basin, four men set off fireworks from boats. Beyond, an obelisk flanked by figures of Fame. At right and left, pyramidal structures with dolphin fountains and symbols of Victory. In the background, rockets and fireworks. Engraved on the plate at the lower left: "Le Pautre, Sculps, 1676." Inscription at lower left: "Cinquieme Journee. Feu d'artifice sure le canal de Versailles." Lower right: "Dies Quintus Incendium ludicrum e pyrio puluere super alueum Versaliarum."
