Description:
View of the façade of a pavilion-like structure in a garden. At the entrance of the building, faced with fluted columns, is a fountain of a river god, pouring out water from an urn. The pediment of the building is decorated with rocaille ornamentation of scrolling acanthus leaves and features a statue of an angel at the pinnacle of the pediment. A garden with fountains and parterres can be seen through the entrance and to the side of the structure. An inscription at the bottom of the page indicates that this design was part of a project for a garden grotto for the Elector of Cologne. The plate is signed and numbered.
