Description:
Landscape study showing the sharp and rugged outlines of mountains around the Wadi Mujib--a great canyon in present day Jordan, which was then known as Syria. At upper left, one mountain is rendered in greater detail with visible bands of rock strata.
Verso: Lanscape study of mountains in the Wadi Mujib--a great canyon in present day Jordan, which was then known as Syria. Rendered in some detail, the mountains are madeup of layers of rock strata. One ridge is visible below with another in the upper portion. Rock bands clearly delineated.
