Seascape sketch showing a large fleet of mackerel fishing boats sailing out to sea from Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Foreground and middle distance are entirely comprised of ocean, while the scene itself takes place in the background across a high horizon. The numerous masts of the fishing boats lend a serrated appearance to the otherwise flat horizon.
