Description:
Landscape sketch showing a view of the mountainous wilderness around Bird Mountain in Vermont. A heavily wooded ridge extends from lower left to upper right, extending from the foreground to the middle distance and culminating in a sharp summit at upper right--a subsidiary peak of Herrick Mountain, whose ridge extends out of view at upper right. Other, shorter mountains at left surround a wooded valley, possibly with a body of water visible at center left. In the background, Vermont's Green Mountains form a rugged horizon under a featureless sky.
