Description:
Landscape sketch showing a view across an elevated meadow of rolling and wooded coastal terrain on Grand Manan Island in Canada. In the foreground, a tuft of vegetation is visible at right while, just beyond it, a group of three or four houses are shown just beyond a split rail fence. At left, a heavily wooded hillside with several tall conifers gently descends toward the center, where another building is visible behind some trees. In the middle distance at center, a road curves up and over a small raise in the land, where several buildings and houses are perched. At right, a small hill rises above the rest of the heavily wooded landscape, which extends into the distance a left before meeting the ocean in the background. Several capes or islands are shown jutting into the water in the background at center and left.
