Description:
Landscape sketch showing a view of a town in the mountains of Colombia or Ecuador. In the foreground at left, a stone bridge ornamented with terra cotta tiles traverses a stream that extends to the right along the lower margin. The stream's banks are muddy and lightly wooded. The numerous buildings of a town are shown across a grassy pasture at center right. A church with two belltowers is discernable among the other buildings made up of white stucco walls and red terra cotta roof tiles. Foothills rise behind the town and ascend to a range of rugged and misty mountains that grow faint as the extend into the distance. The sky above is warm and hazy.
