Description:
Landscape and atmosphere sketch showing a view of a cloudy sky above a wooded ridge near Niagara Falls, backlit by the light of the sun or moon. Dark treetops are visible along the lower margin, while light and dark clouds mix in the sky above.
Verso: Landscape sketch showing a view of Horseshoe Falls and Terrapin Tower from the Canadian bank of the Niagara River. Viewed from below, the massive falls stretch horizonally across the composition and send sheets of water cascading over the edge. The Terrapin Tower is visible, perched atop the edge of the falls at left. In the foreground below, the churning water of the Niagara River is visible.
