Description:
Landscape sketch showing a distant view of the rugged Greek island of Patmos as the sun sets over the Aegean Sea. Water extends from foreground to background, where the island is visible. Multiple peaks along rugged mountain ranges are visible throughout the island. A few small, puffy clouds hang in the sky while the sun descends toward the horizon at right. In addition, a sketch of a sailboat is shown in upper left corner.
Verso: Sketches from around the Aegean Sea showing a sailboat with two figures, viewed in profile at upper left, and the upper portion of a pointed minaret, visible at lower left and oriented to the left.
