Description:
Recto, above: Landscape with a man sitting under a tree, holding a vessel on his lap. His horse is tied to another tree at right. A woman identified as Erminia stands before him wearing a sword. Recto, below: In the foreground at center, the Calydonian boar stands over a fallen warrior. Atalanta stands at left, firing her bow.
Verso: Above is a small sketch of an escutcheon surrounded by loosely indicated figures, topped with a crown, the whole raised on two steps. The surface of the shield is blank. At center is a bank of scrolling ornament with a breastplate and helmet at the middle. Below is a close-up study of a bird’s foot with talons and with scales. Along the left margin is a partially illegible Dutch inscription.
