Brian Harrington was born in 1941 in Providence, Rhode Island. Brian earned his B.A. in Zoology and Animal Biology from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1964. He then went on to work on the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program (POBSP) in from 1965 to 1968, serving as a Technical Assistant. His main duties with POBSP involved bird banding and observation, as well as the production of reports.
