This round pinback button supported Bernard Demczuk’s campaign as a Jesse Jackson delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1988. The button is made of a sheet of paper folded around the metal pin. Yellow lettering against a black background reads “Vote Demczuk for Jackson”. Demczuk led Jesse Jackson’s labor strategy in his 1984 and 1988 presidential campaigns.
The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
