This round pinback button advocated to make the District of Columbia a US State. The pin reads “51st / d.c. statehood” in black lettering and features three red stars and two red bars representing the district. If admitted as a State, DC would join the 50 already-existing ones.
The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
