This round pinback button supported Peggy Shepard's Assembly candidacy in 1992. After losing the Democratic primary, Shepard run in the 1992 New York Assembly election representing the Liberal Party. The pin features a photographic portrait of the candidate printed in shades of green.
The button is among more than 200 collected by Washington, DC-based environmental justice advocate Vernice Miller-Travis.
