The Chicago Transit Authority was one of the largest users of these buses in the 1950s, but other cities (Omaha, Nebraska and Winnipeg, Canada among others) also operated LPG transit buses. (text from the NMAH exhibit, "America on the Move": http://americanhistory.si.edu/onthemove/collection/object_200.html ; An innovator in the bus business, Fageol was the first company to build a bus from the ground up, and it was called the Safety Coach. Later in 1927 the Fageol brothers sold out and began Twin Coach. They then built the Model 40 Twin Coach - a twin engine city bus that began the city bus business. This bus operated for up to 20 years in many cities - a rarity at the time. In 1960 Twin Coach was bought by Flxible. http://www.motorbooks.com/Store/ProductDetails_9852.ncm ; (from the book: Fageol and Twin Coach Buses : 1922-1956 Photo Archive, by William Luke, published by Motorbooks ; "Though the Fageols' first love was probably automobiles, when the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition took place in Golden Gate Park, Frank Fageol turned his eyes to the possibility of another way of making money, and built a fleet of trains that carried sightseers around the grounds." http://vintagetractors.com/Fageol.html
