Collection History:
Collected or excavated between January and March 1897 during the Whitmore Exploring Expedition led by Richard Wetherill (1858-1910) and sponsored by Charles E. Whitmore Jr. (1870-ca. 1940) and George Bowles; sold in 1897 to B. Talbot B. Hyde (1872-1933) and his brother Frederick E. Hyde, Jr. (1874-1944); donated to the American Museum of Natural History (New York City) by the Hyde brothers; withdrawn from the AMNH collection by B. Talbot B. Hyde in August 1909 and lent to the University of Pennsylvania Museum (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) in conjunction with the George Heye collection there; purchased by George Heye from B. Talbot B. Hyde in February 1916 using funds donated by Thea (Mrs. George) Heye.
