Collection History:
Excavated by Clarence Bloomfield Moore (1852-1936, an archaeologist who worked in the southeastern United States), probably in 1917 or 1918, but left behind in a back dirt pile; recovered from back dirt by members of an amateur archaeology group in the 1970s or 1980s; acquired by Dr. Louis Hill (of Tallahassee, Florida) in the 1980s; identified by Dr. Hill in 2013 as a fragment from a vessel donated by Clarence Moore in 1918; donated to NMAI by Lou Hill in 2013.
