Formerly in the collection of Mary Gahagan Eastlake (1898-1979), nurse director of the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1933 to 1943 and nurse director of the U.S. Public Health Service's Indian health division until 1964; donated to the Indian Arts and Crafts Board by Mary Eastlake in 1977; part of the IACB Headquarters collection (Department of the Interior, Washington, DC) until 2000 when it was transferred to NMAI.
