Collection History:
Printed hymnal ("Okodakiciye-Wakan Odawan") published by Thomas Whittaker and Church Literature Press, New York, New York, in 1894; this copy with its decorated cover formerly owned by Edna Peninger Biller (1879-1952), whose husband, Reverend George Biller, served as an Episcopal minister on the Rosebud Reservation between 1908 and 1912 and as bishop of South Dakota from 1912 to 1915; probably given by Edna Biller to her sister-in-law Kate Murial Biller Jones (1887-1972) and her husband, Reverend Frank Richard Jones (1876-1948), at an unknown date; inherited by Richard Gordon Taggart (1928-1997, a grandson of Kate and Richard Jones); donated to NMAI by Richard G. Taggart and his wife Doris Cyphers Taggart (1927-1997) in 1992.
