Possibly collected between 1870 and 1880 by Eliza Haldeman Figyelmesy (1843-1910, wife of Colonel Philip Figyelmesy, U.S. consul to British Guiana) and sent to her father, Samuel Steman Haldeman (1812-1880, a professor of natural history at the University of Pennsylvania); donated to the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia by Professor Haldeman or his family; lent to MAI by the Academy of Natural Sciences in 1929.
