Collected by anthropologist Frank G. Speck (1881-1950) from Oglala performers during the 1926 Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a world's fair that celebrated the 150th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and included Indian exhibits and performances; purchased by MAI from Frank Speck in 1927.
