Said to have been presented by local Native people to the grandmother of Mrs. Daniel Clark of Piermont, New York; acquired by New York congressman John H. Starin (1825-1909) at an unknown date and exhibited at his Glen Island Museum of Natural History and resort in New Rochelle, New York, before 1910; auctioned with other items from the Glen Island Museum in 1921 and purchased by MAI representatives at the auction.
