An interview of Margaret Bensco conducted 1976 September 7, by Paul Karlstrom, for the Archives of American Art, in Berkeley, California.
Bensco discusses her father, artist Ernest Lawson. She speaks of Lawson's career and his relationship with other artists, the 1908 exhibition of the "Eight" at the Macbeth Gallery; her early childhood in Connecticut and New York City, her aspirations to become a sculptor, and her father's relationship with the family.
