Summary:
Recording has hum, clicking sound and portions of muffled speech. Cynthia Goodman interviews Nell Blaine. Discussion topics are wide-ranging and include Blaine's life, art education and her teachers, studying with Hans Hofmann in 1942-1944, Hofmann's views on color, Blaine's paintings and drawings, Blaine's art collection, acting as an estate executor, and paintings of Danish artist Nicolai Abraham Abildgaard. Also discussed are Blaine's drawings and Goodman's idea of creating an archives of drawings of Hofmann's students as a way to study Hofmann's teaching through his corrections on the drawings.
