The Society of American Fakirs was a group formed out of the Art Students League of young artists dedicated to parodying the works of their teachers and other established artists. <br>This publication accompanied the 17th annual exhibit of comedic fakes based on works exhibited in the annual Society of American Artists/National Academy of Design exhibition. It contains satirical articles, poems and illustrations on various subjects pertinent to the art world of the time.
