Summary:
Illustrated letter from Steinberg to Sterne dated January 23, 1944. Steinberg designed the letter to appear as a newspaper, titled "The News; Monthly of Information for Hedda." <br> The first page includes updates about Steinberg, including that his arm is sore, the car he current utilizes is a Volkswagen, and that he bought Sterne a ring. Below the text is a colored drawing of Steinberg's room. <br> The verso, "page 2," details a fictitious battle in which troops fight against various landscape features such as the "the river of distance in space" to capture "fortress Hedda." The battle description is paired with a colored drawing of the scene. The bottom of the page features an advertisement for "kind words from Hedda."
