Majority of photographs depict people and places in Bali, although Egypt, Sri Lanka, Java, China, Hawaii, Japan, and California are all represented. <br>The photographs of Bali document a wide range of Balinese life and culture including: landscapes, architecture, dance and musical performances, religious rites and festivals, market scenes, agriculture, and art. <br>People depicted include Archipenko's wife Angelica, and Archipenko himself from his time at Mills College. <br>Many photographs have handwritten captions, presumably written by Archipenko.
