Summary:
Interview is preceded by Rolick giving a description of the art on view at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (at the time called the Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature and History). <br>Interview with Hutson, curator at the Center, begins approximately 13 minutes into the recording. She describes the history, mission, collections and everyday operations of the Center. She also guides Rolick through an exhibit of artworks and artifacts, and on a visit to the Countee Cullen Library, where Rolick interviews several children using the library. <br>Interview conducted for Rolick's class "Black music and art," at Mercy College.
