Included are letters from Perkins Harnly to Bill Paxton; personal and professional correspondence; printed material and source material; writings by Perkins and others; a photograph album; photographs, negatives, transparencies and slides of works of art by Harnly; photographs of Harnly, his family, friends, colleagues and his travels; 3 VHS videos and 3 audio cassettes of interviews with Perkins conducted by Bill Paxton and Tom Huckabee and 1 VHS video "Perkins Harnly" by Alan Warshaw, 1969; lists of works of art by Harnly; and postcards from Harnly's travels.

Biography Note:
Sarah Burns is professor Emeritus of art history at Indiana University. Burns studied the career of artist Perkins Harnly (1901-1986) and wrote the book The Emphatically Queer Career of Artist Perkins Harnly and His Bohemian Friends , 2021.
