Summary:
REEL 4965: A Hunt Memorial exhibition catalog from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 1879, and a priced catalog of his paintings and charcoal drawings, 1880. Three photographs are of Hunt, including one in his studio, four relate to his mural paintings in the Albany State House Assembly Chamber, Albany, N.Y., two of which are inscribed by Hunt to Sarah Swain Forbes (Mrs. John Murray), ca. 1878, and one is of a charcoal sketch, "Albany" (1878) by Hunt's sister, Jane, depicting Hunt at work on his murals for the State House.
UNMICROFILMED: A charcoal sketch by an unidentified artist; and six printed reproductions and thirty-five mounted photographs of Hunt's art work including allegorical subjects, landscapes, and portraits.

Provenance:
Donated 1993 by William Hathaway Forbes. The papers were found in the attic of a house in Milton, Mass. once owned by the donor's great-grandfather, John Murray Forbes, a patron and cousin-in-law of of Hunt's.
