Summary:
The papers of designer, illustrator, and muralist Olinka Hrdy (1902-1987) date from 1913 to 1955. Found are three scrapbooks containing biographical material, scattered correspondence, photographs, printed material, and sketches and examples of her art. The papers comment on Hrdy's early life and her career, including her participation in the Works Progress Administration, Federal Art Project.

Biography Note:
Olinka Hrdy (1902-1987) was a designer, illustrator, and muralist from Prague, Oklahoma. She studied at the University of Oklahoma and moved to Tulsa after graduation. Later, she lived in New York City, New York and Los Angeles, California, where she had her own design studio. She produced murals for the Works Progress Administration, Federal Art Project.

The collection was loaned to the Archives of American Art for microfilming in 1964 by Olinka Hrdy and was returned to the donor after filming.
