Summary:
The papers of sculptor and painter Edgar W. Bowlin date from circa 1956-circa 1961 and measure 0.01 linear feet. Papers include a list of Bowlin's sculptures and biographical notes; and a draft of a speech delivered by Bowlin on October 12, 1956 at the unveiling of his statue of Andrew Johnson, a program for the dedication of a statue, and remarks by Bowlin from July 1961. Also found are two pages of a guest register of signatures with comments on Bowlin's sculpture, Pleased Boy ; four photographs of Bowlin with his work and with family; and printed material including news clippings about Bowlin and his work.

Biography Note:
Tennessee sculptor and painter Edgar W. Bowlin (1923-2001), was known for his sculptures and oil paintings of United States presidents including Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy, and liturgical paintings in Tennessee area churches.
