"While mention of the various stories has been made in many of my previous books, apparently I did not tell them full enough, for I have been asked on many occasions to relate them again, and in this book I have tried to go into fuller detail ..."--Foreword.
General note:
Author's original corrected typescript. In paper wrappers. Possibly unpublished. The work is divided into 12 chapters, 7 of which refer to Africa. It is accompanied by a criticism by R. H. Ambrose, signed but undated, in which he concludes: " It is my opinion that if the work were revised, cut by about 5,000 words it might be acceptable as a 'Book for Boys. '"
