This series covers Giacconi's tenure as the first head of the Space Telescope Science Institute from 1981-1993. It contains meeting agenda, minutes, correspondence,
memoranda, reports, proposals, press clippings and a video. The STSI is the institution responsible for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). A good deal of the material relates
to AURA (Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy), STSI's parent organization. There is a significant lack of material from the years 1990-1993, and there also
is little information relating to the day to day operations of the STSI, or the technical development of the HST.
