Except for one scrapbook devoted to clippings about elephants, all of the books document events, animals, and people at the National Zoological Park. Twelve scrapbooks are filled with clippings about the giant pandas "Ling-Ling" and "Hsing-Hsing," and four books deal exclusively with the death of "Smokey Bear." Also included are some loose newspaper clippings in folders, dating from 1899 to 1905.
