Scope and Contents:
This series contains 81 gelatin silver prints depicting the Lake Superior Chippewa band of Anishinaabe (Chippewa/Ojibwa) harvesting wild rice on the Bad River Reservation in Odanah, Wisconsin. The photographs were shot by David Grant Noble in 1970-1971. The photographer wrote captions on the back of most of the photographs. The photos depict boat launching and towing on the Bad River Reservation; wild rice harvesting on the Bad River and in the Kakagon Sloughs on Lake Superior; and ceremonies and community festivals and games after the wild rice harvesting. Individuals depicted include Marie LaPointe.

Photographer David Grant Noble arranged the photographs in this series in rough sequential order.
