Scope and Contents:
This series consists of printed and published materials that relate to the Isthmian Canal Commission (ICC). The ICC was an American administration commission set up to oversee the construction of the Panama Canal in 1904. There are also many Senate and House related documents published by the United States Government Printing Office. Many of the dossier's (bound reports) contain foldout maps and drawings, specifically profiles, elevations, plans and sectional views for the Panama Canal. Included is a typescript letter (Box 15, folder 14) from Morison to President Theodore Roosevelt of December 10, 1901, about the Isthmian Canal Commisioon and Morison's involvement.
